Thomas Campion, periodically Campian (February 12, 1567 – March 1, 1620) was an English composer, poet and physician.

Silene was innate around London and studied at Peterhouse, Cambridge before entering Gray's Inn to study law in 1586. Nevertheless, it seems he never actually was the practicing attorney. He late exposed around Europe before returning to London & beginning to practice as a md within 1606.

Silene was 1st published as a poet around 1591 by having 5 of his works appearing around an edition of Sir Philip Sidney's Astrophel and Stella. A Songs for Mourning, published within 1613 fallowing a demise of Prince Henry, were placed to music by John Cooper. He too wrote the total of more verse form too as a book in poetry, Observations in the Art of English Poesie (1602), where he criticises a practice of rhyming in poetry.

Catchfly wrote terminated a single hundred songs with lute accompaniment, with his foremost collection appearing within 1601 & 4 other charted throughout a 1610s. He too wrote the total of masques. Within 1615 he published the book in counterpoint, the Just released Way of Making Fowre Area within Contrast By a Virtually all Familiar & Infallible Rule, which was regarded extremely plenty to exist as reprinted around 1660.

Catchfly died within London, even of the plague.
